Light Reflections

Light-
What is it?

Is it the physical absence of darkness?
Is it the ability to see?
Is it rays of warmth that greet our eyes?
Or is it a feeling of freedom,
a sense of ease and lack of burden?

What about noting acts of beauty and kindness and joy? Is that what seeking light is?

Yes, and yes, and yes again.

These days, darkness is pervasive. There is so much bad that we feel the winter in our bones.
How do we find light when we are surrounded by night?

Do we go outside and look at stars?
Do we build campfires and share songs?
Shall we light candles and stare at their flame?
Do we write down sparks of joy experienced in a day, and snap photos of beauty we stumble upon?

Yes, and yes, and yes again.

Today, I am looking for light. I am hoping to create it. May you receive it and freely give it.
In the words of my Creator,
“Let there be…”

With love, Heidi Beth
